To Natalie McGarry

Dear Natalie McGarry,

I originally created the White Feather Club blog as a catharsis, a way of venting my personal frustration with the individuals within Unionism who were doing terrible things to Scotland.

The Labour Gravy Trainers, the Tory Spivs, the LibDem Nasties.

These people were, and continue to be, the people who are preventing the people of Scotland from taking the levers of power back from London, to Scotland, where it can be used for good things .

But there are other obstacles.

I am writing an open letter to you asking for you to please stop using Twitter.

Personally I don’t use it.

Do you know why?

Well, because I have better things to do.

And so should you.

Now before I go further, I should make it clear that I’m a Yes supporter.

I absolutely believe that Scotland should be an Independent nation state.

We should run our own affairs and provide our own solutions for our own problems.

And that’s the point, we do have many problems that require solutions and it’s very difficult to provide those solutions when we don’t have the powers.

We need to convince a lot of our fellow Scots that we have the maturity, that we are grown up as a people; that we Can Do.

And that means that we should apply focus to Scotland, her people and convince them, by good governance, good deeds and a professional approach that we have the gravitas to govern ourselves.

It’s a fact that a lot of Scots remain unconvinced that Scotland can govern herself and to be perfectly honest, you are not helping these potential Yes voters to cross, what for them, may be a huge line in their current thinking.

You and your Twitterings are a distraction.

I personally couldn’t give a damn about JK Rowling.

Nor am I interested in the wayward thinking of someone who has strange ideas about what happened in the dark days of WW2.

Ignore them and they will go away.

What I am interested in is finding solutions for Scotland’s problems; the child poverty that still continues to plague us. Ensuring that our NHS continues delivering to patients. Building our education. Building homes. Creating a fair society. Creating jobs.

I do not want to see the Main Stream Media splashing headlines across their pages about you and Twitter. It’s a distraction. It’s diverting attention away from what matters, from what is important.

So just stop it. Now.

It doesn’t matter if what you Tweet is accurate or not. Because your profile as a Twitter user is now corrupted. You are making a fool of yourself and the Scottish Independence movement.

People will be influenced by the MSM headlines; the “Natalie McGarry does something on Twitter” headline.

When people see that headline they are distracted from what should be the real issues.

So stop giving Scotland’s opponents ammunition.

Stop using Twitter now!

Doing it for the Tories (don’t let them win)!

If there is a single and absolute truth in the Scottish Referendum campaign it is that the Labour Party and Liberal Democrat’s are working for the Tory Party.

They have simply decided that the electoral well being of the Tory Party is of more importance that tackling inequality, poverty and the appalling lack of social justice in Scotland.

These people are working for the Tories. Don’t let these people win.

Anticipating the Excuses

In the event of a Yes vote I predict that Scottish Unionist MPs and MSPs will be scrambling for any lifeboat that may take them safely away from the sinking ship that is (was) the Union and to a career in Scotland’s new politics.

We are going to witness a long queue of Unionists wanting to tell us all how they secretly voted Yes but, prior to the actual ballot, had been put under tremendous pressure and bullying from their London bosses to toe the party line.

“I wanted to go public on my support for Yes, but I was prevented from doing so,” will be the excuse.

I suppose that I can recognise this position as I completely accept that virtually every single Unionist politician that presently holds a seat at Westminster and Holyrood is simply a career orientated, self-serving individual. If I make a leap from my personal world view and into their world view, then this position, although very unpalatable, can be understood. Westminster politics is without a sense of responsibility or concern for the problems and injustices of society. This pervades down through the ranks to an individual level. The Mother of Parliaments is an empty house as far as morality is concerned.

The Unionists at Holyrood share the same attitude but are exposed as the 3rd raters they really are because they are up against real politicians in the shape of a powerful group of SNP and Greens MSPs who genuinely want to do a good job for the people of Scotland.

The Unionists will try to articulate how the world of a politician seeking to do the best for their constituents is fraught  with party political bureaucracy that prevents freedom of thought and stifles individualism. They will seek to paint a picture of a life that is unpleasant, dominated by a London Political Establishment that rules with a rod of iron. “We are victims!” they will cry.

The general public, will of course, be expected to swallow this, hook, line and sinker.

If you think the Unionists can talk a load of complete rubbish during the campaign, then in the event of a Yes, you can be assured that the verbal creativity will reach hitherto unknown heights. It will go off the bullshit scale.

So I have a small challenge for the Unionists. You can call it an Insurance Policy, or a Get Out of Jail Card, if you like.

I want them to photograph their ballot papers while they are in the booth with the X clearly in evidence, prior to them posting it in the ballot box.

ballot

Then if there is a Yes, these same Unionists can produce the image as evidence of their loyalty to the Scottish people.

I can’t guarantee that it will be a meal ticket to a new career, but it will be a first step in their rehabilitation to a real, just, post Westminster Scottish society.

Clinging onto Thatcher’s coat tails

Remember Margaret Thatcher?

A nasty piece of work who went out of her way to do wicked things to the economy and society of Scotland.

Thatcher blazed a trail with her sociopathic, ill conceived politics….Better Together intend to go several notches…..well, Better!

Better Together Aberdeenshire posted this noxious entry on their Facebook page which shines a bright light on the Dark Heart of the thinking of Better Together and the No campaign.

btstewartwhytefoodbanks

A truly frightening vision of the future for Scotland should No prevail. It is as shocking in it’s honesty as it is in it’s potential.

This vision, as advocated by Better Together appears to me to be moving to a position where the human compassion element of the Nation State is discouraged and effectively killed off. It is that despicable in it’s intention.

To find words to describe a possible No vote I struggled until I realised that it is sometimes a good idea to go into the camp of your opponent for inspiration. And so what better person to paraphrase and quote than Neil Kinnock, the former Labour leader, on the eve of his election defeat to Margaret Thatcher in 1979. I’ve amended some of his words to suit these troubled times;

“If Margaret Thatcher is re-elected as prime minister Better Together win on Thursday September 18th, I warn you . . . I warn you that you must not expect work — when many cannot spend, more will not be able to earn. When they don’t earn, they don’t spend. When they don’t spend, work dies. I warn you not to go into the streets alone after dark or into the streets in large crowds of protest in the light. I warn you not to expect the NHS in Scotland to continue safe from Privatisation,  I warn you that you will be quiet — when the curfew of fear and the gibbet of unemployment Westminster Direct Rule make you obedient. I warn you that you will have defence of a sort — with a risk and at a price that passes all understanding. I warn you that you will be home-bound — when fares and transport bills kill leisure and lock you up. I warn you that you will borrow less — when credit, loans, mortgages and easy payments are refused to people on your melting income. I warn you that all of Scotland’s people will suffer and Foodbanks will be seen as the normal solution to the Social Fascism that Scotland will endure for having the audacity to yearn for something with fairness at it’s core. Westminster does not easily forgive nor forget.

If Margaret Thatcher Better Together wins on September 18th, I warn you not to be ordinary. I warn you not to be young. I warn you not to fall ill. I warn you not to get old.

A Tory Bully Boy who wants to put Scotland down!

Following the debate between Alex Salmond and Alistair Darling, the rumination and digestion of the details goes on.

Better Together (actually let’s not call them Better Together. I think it’s more accurate to call them the Anti-Scottish League, because that is what they are) are making a big deal about the Currency issue.

The Anti-Scottish newspapers are writing about it.

The Anti-Scottish politicians are bleating on about it.

The Anti-Scottish radio anchors are broadcasting about it.

The Anti-Scottish TV presenters are reading from their auto-cues about it.

Darling tried to entrap Salmond by repeating the position of the Anti-Scottish League, that there will be no currency union.

Salmond didn’t respond to the bait and stated that the position of the Anti-Scottish League was a negotiating ploy. In others words the Anti-Scottish League are lying.

Quelle Surprise!

A commentator elsewhere suggested that Salmond should have responded to the currency Plan B question like this: “Of course I have a Plan B in my drawer. And a Plan C. And a Plan D. I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t. However, if I revealed my alternative plans, I would effectively reveal my negotiation strategy, and that would inevitably lead to a worse deal for Scotland. I want the best deal for Scotland, so I can’t do that. Do you not want Scotland to get the best possible deal, Alastair?”

Fair enough and not a bad idea!

But I think we are missing a small point in all this discussion about who should have said what and the relevance of this particular issue to winning votes from the Undecideds.

It is this;

Live on a televised debate, Darling, acting on behalf and with the full support of his Boss, Davis Cameron, the Tory Prime Minister, threatened the people of Scotland.

Let me put it another way;

David Cameron, the Tory Prime Minister, with the full support of his pet poodle, a Scottish Labour MP called Alistair Darling, threatened the people of Scotland.

Still not clear enough for you?

The Tory Party in London threatened the people of Scotland. The Tory Party are being backed to the hilt by the Scottish Labour Party.

A Scottish Labour MP delivered the threat to Scotland and was proud to do so.

That same Scottish MP, Alistair Darling is the Bully Boy for his Boss, The Tory Prime Minister.

Remember the Tories? They are the party who destroyed Scotland’s engineering and manufacturing tradition. They imposed the Poll Tax on Scotland and they have deliberately put in place policies that have resulted in a staggering 1 in 5 Scottish children being condemned to a life in poverty. I could go on but I’m sure you remember them and know them for what they are.

Not content with the ills that they have previously visited upon the Scottish People, that same Tory Party popped up at the live television debate between Salmond and Darling and threatened Scotland and her People. David Cameron and George Osbourne may not physically have been on that stage but they were there in spirit, in the guise of Alistair Darling, their messenger boy, who delivered the message that Dave and George want you to hear.

Scottish Labour…….The Tory Bully Boys who want to put Scotland down!

Vote Yes and save our NHS

Andy Burnham Labour MP and shadow Health Secretary, recently stated in the Independent that all new contracts between hospitals and the private sector should be put on hold until after next year’s general election.

When he states that privatization should be “put on hold” what he really means is that Labour are being left behind in the Great NHS Privatisation Gravy Train race. Labour wants the train to stop so that they, Labour politicians, can jump on board and get their grubby paws on the contracts.

It’s a well understood fact of modern politics that Westminster MPs are only in politics for the money.

Being an MP brings opportunities for directorships, speaking engagements and numerous other business junkets, including shares. In other words, policy decisions made in Westminster almost always have a financial spin off for numerous individuals within the Palace of Westminster. It’s crooked to the core.

Social Investigations provides analysis of this and it is a real eye opener for several reasons.

The biggest eye opener and something that we all need to be aware of is that this level of corruption isn’t an English only phenomenon. Scottish politicians are up to their neck in these activities.

And guess who is involved? Here are the culprits. The information is extracted from Social Investigations.

Alistair Darling: MP for Edinburgh South-West: 7 April 2011, He received a fee of £10,200 for addressing a dinner organised by Cinven, London. Hours: approx 6 hrs. On its website it states: ‘Cinven has been involved in European healthcare over a 20-year period and invests in market-leading, cash-generative companies.’

Cinven is a leading buyout firm, who bought 25 private hospitals from Bupa. Other UK investments include. Spire Healthcare, who run private healthcare hospitals, and whose clinical director Jean-Jacques de Gorter said the use of private sector would spiral as a result of Andrew Lansley’s reform proposals. General healthcare group, which runs healthcare services, and whose group includes: BMI healthcare. The other company is Générale de Santé who are France’s leading healthcare provider.

Menzies Campbell: North East Fife: Non-executive director of Scottish American Investment Company plc since 2007. The investment company took over one of the care homes when Southern Cross collapsed. His spokeswoman said: “It is Sir Menzies’ understanding that negotiations for another care provider to take over the running of the care home in question are at an advanced stage. Sir Menzies has no further comment to make.” Approximately 4.5% of the investment company’s equity is in healthcare.

robert smith

Robert Smith: Liberal Democratic MP for West Aberdeenshire and KIncardine – Has shares in pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline. Shares in Legal and General, which offers medical insurance.

GSK is the UK’s leading supplier of COPD medicines, supplies the NHS. Has shares in Legal and general, which offer private health insurance.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

My personal opinion on this is that Darling, Campbell, Smith and the numerous English MPs are setting an example for the Scottish Unionist politicians who are fighting for a No vote in September. They have blazed a trail that others desperately wish to follow.

In other words, Labour and LibDems MSPs and those representing Scottish Westminster seats (MPs) desperately want a No vote because it represents an opportunity for personal wealth creation.

A No vote means the end of the NHS in Scotland, it will be Privatised and it will, in the main, be Scottish Labour MPs, MSPs and Peers who will reap the rewards.

You will see Scottish Labour and LibDems politicians gaining employment with private healthcare companies. You will see them on the boards of directors, you will see them accumulating share portfolios in private healthcare.

In the event of a No vote, those in Scotland who become ill and require health care will, in future, witness their illness contributing to the fat bank accounts of Unionists.

The Unionists will emasculate Scotland and align Scotland with England where the NHS is concerned. Privatisation in England means privatisation in Scotland. That is what One Nation politics represent, whether it’s from Labour or the Tories.

This scenario is not far-fetched. Precedents have already been set by Scottish politicians, Alistair Darling of course is one of them, and there is a big queue of Scottish Unionists waiting in the wings to snatch up the financial opportunities.

Make no mistake, Unionists want a No vote so that they can gain financially from the inevitable Privatisation of the Scottish NHS.

The only way to secure the Scottish NHS is to vote Yes in September.
